Great Fund-stretching Opportunities for Scottish Charities Through In Kind Direct
In Kind Direct network is an organisation set up in 1996 with the aim of distributing surplus goods (samples, slight seconds, faulty packaging, end-of-line stock etc.) to charitable organisations at a fraction of the original recommended retail price. Charities pay an annual registration fee to join In Kind Direct and then receive a monthly catalogue full of products including toys, toiletries, household appliances, cleaning supplies, computers and office equipment. There is a small handling charge for the products (about 10% of the retails cost) but this includes delivery by TNT. Currently, charitable organisations based in the Fair Share areas of Scotland (Dundee City, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire [excluding East Renfrewshire] and South Ayrshire), thanks to funding from the Community Fund Scotland, can register with In Kind Direct totally free. They'll also receive £150 of discount vouchers, exchangable for up to £1,500 worth of goods.
For further information on how to join In Kind Direct's network and for details of the Community Fund Scotland's subsidised rate, please contact Tasha Procter on 020 7860 5927 or visit www.inkinddirect.org.
